Question by gswanson45: What law prohibits auto dealers from acceping a lower bid on an advertized sticker price of a car?
A CA auto dealership stated that no negotiation (for a lower price) cold be considered on a used car because of a new 2008 (April) law, which states that an advertized price (newspaper) and sticker price on the car could not be lowered through negotiation. Does anyone know of this new law? If so, where can read about this law that prohibits a lower price offer on an advertized "special" price on a used car?

They are lying. That's what dealer do. Some people even say that they are STEALERship.
People negotiate sticker prices 100% of the time. And the advertised prices are no different.

Don't get offended but it sounds like you are very gullible (in a nice way). Don't go car shopping by yourself. Take a friend who has some experience and learn by watching this time around.
Good Luck...
