Question by H.S. Renee: How can a power of attorney affect the custody of a minor?
My dad says he can't legally give my mom custody of me. Exept through a power of attorney. I don't understand and he won't explain anything. If there is any other way out of this I would like those suggestions to.

Under age 18, dependind on which state, a power of attorney document is a document that is signed to agree for one person to give someone else the right to make the best choices for the child. It's like giving ownership of the child to some else. Good luck with that situation!!
