What is the difference between a divorce and an annulment?


Question by honeyflash1: What is the difference between a divorce and an annulment?
An annulment you get if you've been married for a few days or hours and a divorce is if you've been married for a while, am I right? or wrong? or a little off?

An annulment is a declaration that there never was a marriage.

A divorce recognizes a valid marriage and provides for property distribution.
