Q&A: Does anyone know of a co. that will allow you to just get maternity insurance?

Question by Sam: Does anyone know of a co. that will allow you to just get maternity insurance?
I have BCBS and they will not allow me to add maternity insurance. They say you only have 30 days once married and I did not know that. I am not pregnant. But I want to get my options other than changing insurance companies. Please help if you know of anything! Thanks!
I guess I should have added......they say there isn't a open enrollment. They said that the only way possible for me to add maternity is to cancel my policy for 6 mths.

A company is required by law to enroll you during open enrollment period or during the first 30 days you become eligible for insurance. Your best bet is to wait until the next open enrollment if it's past the 30 days or to find a different insurance.

Because the insurance policies are based on collecting money and being able to use that money to pay out on policies, there are few if any insurance companies that will take on a person for insurance coverage only during the pregnancy. There is no profit for the insurance companies in this, unless they charge a very high premium. That's why most insurance companies have a waiting period or won't cover preexisting conditions.
